We embarked on this one-week, round trip cruise out of Dubrovnik on an approximately 85 feet boat called Pape 1 with a total of 27 passagers.
MLJET and MLJET Provincial Park (map bottom right)
Our first overnight stop is at this most southern of the larger Adriatic islands of the Dalmatian region of Croata.
Mljet Harbour
We rent bikes and cycle into Mljet National Park and around the two salt water lakes.
Clear skies to begin with….
Short intense storm moves in just as we arrive in a small community where we take shelter and enjoyed local drinks courtesy of the establishment.
Local warm welcome.
Upper/lower left: our view during flash rain. Top right: where sea meets lake; bottom right: scampi dinner back in town.
Day two starts rather dull but magnificantly.
Glitzy HVAR:
Most famous vacation town of the Islands where its 13th-century wall surrounds beautifully ornamented Gothic palaces and traffic-free marble streets.
A lovely swim before hiking up the hill.
Hvar at dusk.
KORČULA
This beautifully preserved medieval town is said to be the birthplace of Marco Polo.
Its building and fortified walls date back to the 13th century.
Lots of small passageways to explore and once again no vehicles.
Wendi poses with humour; the Cathredral of St Mark, top left. Stuffed calamari and Mediterranean salad and local wine, GRC, (not shown).
